More Commentary on Trump’s SAVE Address

Regurgitation -- I will be surprised if this changes senators' minds about SAVE. His address was some combination of laughably and pathetically tired, regurgitated tripe. It's faintly poetic this came on the day I renewed my election worker training, focused naturally on all the safeguards we employ around absentee ballots. --Hugh Hansen/Contributing Pundit

Debate & Donuts IV Wednesday

Many on the center-right as well as the left are worried about President Trump’s efforts to tighten up voting restrictions in time for the November 3 midterm elections with his SAVE America Act.

The president’s MAGA supporters counter that it’s the left that has suppressed their voter rights by encouraging undocumented immigrants to vote and that a socialist democrat takeover of the Democratic Party will impose further suppression.

As this disagreement has evolved over the last year and a half of the second Trump administration, Benjamin Franklin’s remark that we have “a republic, if you can keep it,” at the Constitutional Convention in September 1787 has been repeated many times.

The Hustings in partnership with The Allen Theatre is ready to repeat Franklin’s words yet again at our next Talking With, Not At… Debate & Donuts IV beginning 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 22. The free audience discussion is again to be held at the Allen Theatre, 36 E. Main Street in Annville, Pennsylvania.

If you are anywhere near South-Central Pennsylvania this Wednesday, and count yourself as politically conservative, liberal or centrist, we encourage you to join our civil debate.

No matter where you live, you always are encouraged to become a Citizen Pundit.
