Two left-column commentaries begin the week. First is comment from a citizen pundit who participated in the Talking With, Not At … Debate & Donuts on regulation of big technology at The Allen Theatre in Annville, Pennsylvania, September 16. Second is a comment from a contributing pundit.

On the question of whether AI needs better (any) regulation -- At the 'Big Tech' debate last week it was mentioned that someone thinks we need to support AI just to keep up with China.  Methinks that that someone is a wee bit out of touch with reality. Most ‘educated’ and ‘woke’ Americans know that Trump’s wall will not prevent terrorism, keep thousands of China’s well-educated hackers out of our bank accounts and keep bullets out of our classrooms and megachurches in Texas. Worse yet, it won’t even make our cars, TVs, PCs, smartphones, Air Force One, Facebook and Twitter servers start without parts made in foreign countries! … Patriotism begins with knowledge, not lies and right-wing propaganda. –Ron Wilke

Response to Pundit-at-Large Stephen Macaulay’s ‘Watch Your Wallet’ – What I don’t understand is why anyone, at this point, would believe anything that Donald Trump says. According to fact checking at The Washington Post he told over 30,000 lies in his first term alone. Would you trust this man with your bank account? With your future? Today he is continuing his lying to the American people about everything. I say to people who are Trump supporters, if a friend of yours told you one lie would you ever trust that person again totally? And the answer is no. So why are we entrusting our lives to a total narcissist? I cannot figure this out. –Kate McLeod/Contributing Pundit
